Review from Italy:

Sunday, April 13 at the Teatro Civico of La Spezia was held a dance show conceived and designed by the dance school of Penny Crump. To allow her students to have an experience of different dance styles she invited from London Anna Watkins, dancer, choreographer, and founder of her company Watkinsdance with the special guests of two of her dancers Ellen Yılma and Petros Trekis.

The show developed into something extremely interesting, in which the experimentation of the body reached levels of cutting-edge research. Nothing was left to chance but everything was based on the essential. The human body was the focus of this performance the stage was limited to a few volumes animated with intense but monochrome lighting creating dreamlike effects of undoubted involvement.

Mostly percussion music, it wasn't overwhelming but on the contrary forcing concentration on the movements of the dancers who wanted to transmit something deep and personal. A large part of the show, the entire first Act, has been dedicated to creative Dance tought by Elisabetta Vittoni, choreographer and dancer with an important role in the choreography of this show. She was also responsible for the initial performance in the form of video that introduces the concept of creative dance, which express personality through the creation of free movement where it is important to improvise.

The second part was built and choreographed by Anna Watkins, the first two pieces performed by the students of the school, while the last one saw the professional dancers from London that accompanied the choreography in a performance built on the theme of the relationship and on the various developments of affection between men and women.

The show, complex in concept, revealed, beyond the undoubted skill of the guest british dancers, also the students of Penny Crump's school, already demonstrated on other occasions, to obtain from her pupils, even the smaller ones, a surprising level of professionalism that makes these shows really enjoyable by all lovers of dance.
